Why are our molds more efficient?

Thanks to Selective Laser Melting we are able to create molds that have internal cavities conformed to the design of the part to be produced, which guarantees extremely fast part cooling. An extraordinary result, which makes it possible to drastically reduce cycle times and increase plant production volumes up to 50%.

Based on the Additive Manufacturing principle, which is commonly known as 3D printing, SLM technology makes it possible to eliminate traditional manufacturing constraints, offering the designer maximum freedom in terms of the implementability of shapes and the complexity of geometries.

In comparison to conventional methods that are based on the removal of material from a raw form, Selective Laser Melting technology consists in the layer-by-layer fusion by means of a laser light of very fine steel powder, according to the three-dimensional design model, in order to obtain the finished object with a minimum machining allowance, which is defined based on the requested finishing operation, such as electrical discharge machining, grinding or mirror polishing.

Eosint M 280

Speed, precision, productivity

Thanks to the EOSINT M 280 unit, we are able to create molds that have special internal channels that guarantee extremely quick cooling of the obtained part. An extraordinary result, which makes it possible to drastically reduce cycle times and increase plant production volumes in an inversely proportional manner.

Within the scope of the European Dream project, which also involves the University of Modena, Eos Gmbh and Ferrari Spa, MOLD&MOLD is collaborating actively with its know-how for the development of SLM technology, in order to improve performance and identify new fields of application.
